God is not just the giver of life, but He is also the sustainer of it. He is glorified not only by the act of creation but, more than that, through His creation's continuing dependence on Him. He gives life and He sustains it.

I have known people, maybe you have too, who speak of their salvation experience in the past tense as though it were a one-time event where they got what was needed and then continued on their merry way. However, God did not just give life as a one-time event where we walk away blessed but independent from Him. He gives it in a continuing way where we walk in daily dependence on Him.
